Barges and other marine vessels develop cracks, sink, or otherwise fail for a variety of reasons. It is hard to distinguish the different types of damages observed that result from a failed barge. With the help of subtle clues, we can determine if the observed damage caused the failure, was a result of the failure, or was a result of the salvage operation.
